On Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 November 2026, the conference will be held at the elegant Library of Birmingham. Located on Centenary Square in the historic city center, this impressive venue is recognised as the largest public cultural space in Europe and offers a unique atmosphere for the conference.
The conference programme and registration details will be available by early June at www.globalasbestosforum.org and will also be announced on LinkedIn. Expect unmissable, unique, truly seminal presentations!
This year, the conference adopts the inspiring motto: ‘Asbestos: A call to action!’ Attendees can look forward to presentations from approximately 25 to 30 distinguished speakers, truly representing all corners of the globe. These experts will share their insights and expertise on every aspect of asbestos, including the latest advancements in science, innovative approaches, real-world experience, policy development, demolition strategies, and advocacy campaigns. Beyond the core conference, participants can expect several special additions such as an exciting excursion, Meet & Greet Buffet and a musical Gala Night, all designed to foster engagement and enjoyment among colleagues from around the world.
The conference will focus on the following aspects:
During the conference, all the stands will be aligned along the Library’s expansive windows on the first floor, offering beautiful daylight, immediate contact with the attendees during the breaks and stunning views of the largest German Christmas Market outside of Germany and Austria, on Centenary Square. You may expect visitors to your stand from both English and foreign attendees from likely some twenty countries.
If you wish to secure a stand, please contact waterman@globalasbestosforum.org.
Attendees can also look forward to enjoying the festive atmosphere of a lively winter wonderland, complete with carol singers, traditional artisanal stalls, Bavarian food and drink, a Ferris wheel, an ornate carousel and skating rink. It is the biggest German Christmas Market outside of Germany and Austria! Who knows, perhaps you will be treated to some of those delicious treats at the conference? 😉
Ranging from one minute to an easy ten-minute walk at most, there is a wide range of hotels to be found: the Hyatt Regency (right across Centenary Square and recommended), the Leonardo Royal Hotel, the Premier Inn, the Travelodge, Hampton by Hilton Hotel, the Crowne Plaza, the Holiday Express, etc.
Over the years, the Forum has cultivated a dedicated global community of supporters, many of whom return annually. The conference is more than just an event; it serves as a vibrant community where lasting and important connections are made. While other events may attempt to replicate this unique spirit, the original Global Asbestos Forum conference remains unsurpassed and is widely recognized as one of the leading asbestos conferences worldwide.

Its purpose: the Global Asbestos Forum (formerly known as the European Asbestos Forum) foundation strives to improve professional networks and the exchange of the state of the art knowledge on all matters related to asbestos. Across borders and sectors, available to everyone. Sharing the latest innovations, the newest science, social insights and data, the best practices, the newest campaigns. The ultimate aim: preventing new asbestos victims.
While the Global Asbestos Forum is mainly focused on professionals, asbestos victims (organisations) are warmly welcomed, too. It is up to the professionals of today to ensure that there will be no more future asbestos victims. Because asbestos diseases are preventable. Nobody needs to die from asbestos, and nobody should.
The foundation was founded in 2014 by Dr. Yvonne Waterman LL.M. FFAAM, who serves as its President, and is proud to have a Board of Advisors of globally highly regarded asbestos specialists.
Its motto: ‘Collaboration, acceleration, eradication’. Because we need to support each other, we need to move faster (time = lives) and it will take all of us to eradicate this carcinogenic mineral from our living and working environment.
To support its global activities, the foundation organises a highly regarded global asbestos conference annually.
